I'm though, am rubbish as playing as a mystic knight (can't use the shield properly, I keep wanting to attack with the sword whilst blocking with the shield, which of course casts a spell instead). However, if I had to pick one class to complement Mystic Knight it would be Strider. Strider pawns are very aggressive, which is perfect for Mystic Knight as it allows you to hang back and cast your cannons or spells while your pawn takes aggro.
