Getrag 260
M50 and M51 are Volvo versions of the getrag 262 and 265 (I think the input shaft lengths are different). Getrag 260 has the bellhousing as an integral part of the transmission and is not suitable for the Volvo M46 bellhousing to Getrag adapter. 262, 262CR and 265 Getrags have a removable bellhousing. 262 is a four speed.

Regardless, most people that I've seen do this swap on an E30 usually goes with the ZF instead of keeping their stock tranny.Getrag 260 Synchro Replacement: Gear Train Removal. Remove the Getrag 260 transmission from the car and drain it. Remove the clutch slave release bearing and clutch slave lever. Remove the release bearing sleeve/guide, making sure you keep track of the washers that come off (again, stay organized).The bearings are not common so they're really expensive. It's easy to separate the front half of the box from the rear half though. You really need access to a press to do it all properly, and a 30mm thin walled deep socket (I made one) to undo the output shaft nut. The shift shafts can be a bit of a pain though.
