Nov 21, 2007 · wtf! every gun magazine ive ever read stated that the hk91 barrel would last 30k rnds. ijust purchased one because ive read it was the most accurate,most reliable military type rifle. Oh, I doubt it. The rule of thumb is it takes about 30 pounds of powder to wear a barrel out, or, in a .308, about 5,000 rounds.
